On the anniversary of the September 26 Revolution, the revolution is the dawn of dignity and the birth of freedom.
Written by Baligh Hamoud Saeed Dhamarin, Yemen 🇾🇪
On September 26, time exploded in the heart of Yemen, when free people rose from the ashes of silence and cried out in the face of injustice: Enough. That day was not just a passing date in the pages of time; it was an earthquake that shook the foundations of tyranny and a new birth of the nation from the womb of pain. September was not only a revolution that overthrew tyranny, but the birth of a generation that decided to write its future with the ink of blood, not the ink of submission.
I am the son of September, the grandson of struggle, the heir to glory that cannot be bought or mortgaged. In my veins runs the pulse of revolutionaries, and in my voice resonates the echo of the guns that spoke the only truth: "Freedom First." I am proud of this day as a mountain is proud of its invincible majesty, and as the sun is proud of its never-setting sunrise. In September, not only was the republic born, but we were born anew—free, proud, bowing only to the one and only God.
Oh September, dawn that broke the shackles, glow that illuminated the paths of dignity, you are not just an ordinary day on a calendar. You are a spirit that runs through our veins, immortal and unforgettable. In you, Yemen was renewed, and in you, the inextinguishable flame of freedom was ignited. You are the nation's indelible memory, and the promise that will never be broken: to be free, to resist injustice, and to build a bright tomorrow without restrictions.
Every year, when September 26th comes, the spirit of revolution is renewed within us, and with it the determination to continue the march toward dignity and freedom. We remind ourselves that we are children of a revolution, that we are heirs to a great glory, and that we will kneel only before the One who created us. September is not just a memory; it is a life we build every day, a cry in the face of every tyrant, a pledge to be as we have always been: free, brave, and unyielding.
