Ministers of Higher Education and Social Solidarity visit Luxor

Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity, Engineer Abdel-Muttalib Amara, Governor of Luxor, Dr. Sabreen Abdel-Jalil, President of Luxor University and Acting President of Luxor National University, and Dr. Maher Misbah, Secretary of the Council of National Universities, inspected the headquarters of Luxor National University today, Sunday, in the presence of a group of leaders from the two ministries, the governorate and the university.
During the visit, the two ministers inspected the buildings of Luxor National University, which consists of an academic building in the first phase, with a total area of 12,893 square meters. The building consists of a ground floor and two repeated floors, and a waiting area. The building includes lecture halls, classrooms, laboratories, administrative offices for faculty members and assistant staff, a medical clinic, a seminar hall, an electronic testing center, a restaurant, and a museum.
In his speech, Dr. Ayman Ashour expressed his happiness at being at the university, which is one of the fruits of the Egyptian state’s vision for building human beings and investing in minds, namely Luxor National University. This scientific edifice is a qualitative addition to the higher education system in Upper Egypt, and a fundamental pillar for achieving educational justice and comprehensive development in the southern governorates. It is a form of optimal resource utilization. He emphasized that the Egyptian state has given great attention to the establishment and development of national universities, under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to be a modern and advanced model in education based on excellence, quality and innovation, through advanced academic programs that link knowledge with the labor market and keep pace with the requirements of Egypt’s Vision 2030 in the fields of sustainable development.
The minister pointed out that Luxor National University is one of the promising universities that carries a lofty scientific and developmental message. It is not limited to graduating scientifically qualified cadres, but also works to serve the local community in the governorates of Upper Egypt, through effective partnerships with state institutions and the private sector, and providing applied programs in the fields of tourism and antiquities, languages, computers and artificial intelligence, arts and design, which contributes to preparing a generation of graduates who possess the skill, knowledge and ability to compete in the labor market.
وأوضح الدكتور أيمن عاشور، أن الوزارة تحرص على دعم الجامعات الأهلية بكافة الإمكانات المتاحة، سواء من خلال تطوير البنية التحتية التعليمية، أو تدريب الكوادر الأكاديمية، أو تحفيز البحث العلمي والابتكار، لتصبح هذه الجامعات منارات علمية تضاهي الجامعات العالمية، وتفتح أمام شباب مصر آفاقًا جديدة للتميز والإبداع، موضحًا أن عدد الجامعات الأهلية ارتفع إلى 32 جامعة، وتقدم هذه الجامعات برامج دراسية بينية حديثة تواكب احتياجات سوق العمل المعاصر والمُستقبلي، مشيرًا إلى أن الجامعات الأهلية مزودة بأحدث الوسائط والنظم التكنولوجية، وتتمتع ببنية تحتية معلوماتية متطورة، بالإضافة إلى تزويدها بمعامل حديثة تضم أجهزة تكنولوجية متقدمة، بما يسهم في تقديم تجربة تعليمية متميزة للطلاب.
ومن جانبها، أعربت الدكتورة مايا مرسي، عن سعادتها بحصول الطلاب على المنح الدراسية الممولة من الهيئة العامة لبنك ناصر الاجتماعي تحت مسمى "منحة الراحل الدكتور علي مصيلحي التعليمية"، الذين توافرت فيهم شروط الاستحقاق الاجتماعي، مشيرة إلى أن المنح تم تقديمها للطلاب في المجالات التعليمية التي تقدمها الجامعة.
وأوضحت وزيرة التضامن الاجتماعي، أن الوزارة بالتعاون مع وزارة التعليم العالي، تنفذ مشروع وحدات التضامن الاجتماعي في الجامعات، والذي يهدف إلى تعزيز دور الوزارة في خدمة الشباب من طلاب الجامعات، وتعزيز الوعي الاجتماعي بين الطلاب، وتقديم حزمة من الخدمات المتكاملة للمجتمع الجامعي، بما يحقق رؤية مصر للتنمية المستدامة 2030 بما يعود بالنفع العام على المجتمع المصري.
وأكد المهندس عبدالمطلب عمارة، أن جامعة الأقصر الأهلية، تعد صرحًا تعليميًّا على أرض المحافظة يُضاف لمنظومة التعليم العالي بالمحافظة وجنوب الصعيد، مشيرًا إلى أن خطة الدولة في التوسع في إنشاء الجامعات تساهم في تقليل اغتراب الطلاب، وتسهم في التوسع العمراني، وتوفر الموارد البشرية التي تحتاجها المحافظة، مؤكدًا حرص المحافظة على دعم جهود النهوض بمنظومة التعليم، وتوفير بيئة تعليمية تدعم الابتكار وتشجع على التميز الأكاديمي، لتأهيل الطلاب وتزويدهم بالمعارف والجدارات المختلفة، ليكونوا قادرين على المنافسة في سوق العمل.
ومن جانبها، أوضحت الدكتورة صابرين عبدالجليل، أن الجامعة تم إنشاؤها بموجب القرار الجمهوري رقم 265، بإنشاء جامعة أهلية باسم (جامعة الأقصر الأهلية)، ومقرها مدينة طيبة الجديدة، وتضم 4 كليات، وتشمل (كلية السياحة والآثار - كلية الحاسبات والمعلومات والذكاء الإصطناعي - كلية اللغات والعلوم الإنسانية - كلية الفنون والتصميم)، مشيرة إلى أن هذه الكليات تضم برامج أكاديمية متميزة تم إعدادها وفقًا لأحدث النظم التعليمية العالمية، لتأهيل الطلاب لمتطلبات العصر الرقمي وسوق العمل الحديث.
Dr. Sabreen Abdel-Jalil added that the university offers modern and diverse study programs, as the College of Arts and Design offers (Interior Architecture program, Graphic Design and Media Arts program, Fashion Design program), the College of Tourism and Antiquities offers (Heritage Restoration and Archaeological Architecture program, Tourist Guidance and Cultural Heritage Management program, Airport Management and Air Hospitality Services program, Hospital and Health Resorts Hospitality Management program, Clubs Management and Sports Tourism program), the College of Languages, Translation and Humanities offers (English Language and Translation program, German Language and Translation program, Spanish Language and Translation program, French Language and Translation program, Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers program), and the College of Computers, Information and Artificial Intelligence offers (Artificial Intelligence program, Cybersecurity program).
On the sidelines of the visit, the attendees watched outstanding artistic performances by the university choir, where they listened to a number of national musical and vocal performances.
The attendees also visited an exhibition that included the University’s International Cooperation Office, the University’s Social Solidarity Unit, the Green Office, offices for industry partners, the Youth Welfare Department, the Marketing Department, the University Student Union, the Students for Egypt Family, and the Student Satisfaction Office. The two ministers listened to a detailed explanation about the services provided to students.
The visit was attended by Dr. Adel Zein El-Din, President of Taiba Technological University, Dr. Hamdi Hussein, former President of Luxor University, Dr. Omar Sharif Omar, Secretary of the Supreme Council of University Hospitals, Dr. Mohamed El-Akabi, Assistant Minister of Social Solidarity for Strategic Communication and Media and Official Spokesperson, Dr. El-Saadi El-Ghol, Vice President of the University for Academic Affairs, Mr. Mohamed Ghanem, Head of the Central Administration for the Affairs of the Office of the Minister of Higher Education, and Mr. Hisham Mohamed, Director of the Office of the Minister of Social Solidarity.
