The Egyptian and Saudi foreign ministers discuss bilateral relations and regional developments.

On Friday, February 6, Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, met with His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on the sidelines of the expanded dialogue session held in the Slovenian capital, Ljubljana.
The meeting witnessed mutual affirmation of the deep-rooted fraternal relations between Egypt and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as the two ministers expressed their aspiration to continue joint work to strengthen bilateral relations in all fields, in order to achieve the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.
Regarding the situation in Gaza, the two ministers reaffirmed the importance of implementing the requirements of the second phase of the US President's plan, as a prelude to beginning the reconstruction phase and reviving the comprehensive political settlement process. They also discussed ways to de-escalate tensions in the region and stressed the need for concerted regional and international efforts to contain the escalation and reduce the violence.
